Alhambra Valley is a census-designated place (CDP) in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 2,915 at the 2010 census. It is located in the East Bay region of the San Francisco Bay Area.

The town of Alhambra was founded in 1852 by Benjamin and William Franklin. The name “Alhambra” comes from Spanish and refers to the Moorish palace in Granada, Spain. The Franklins built one of the first sawmills in California in Alhambra Valley and the town became known for its lumber industry.

In recent years, Alhambra Valley has become a bedroom community for the cities of Concord and Walnut Creek. Many residents commute to jobs in San Francisco and Oakland. The town is also home to several wineries and vineyards.

Alhambra Valley is a beautiful place to live with its rolling hills, vineyards, and oak trees. It is a great place to raise a family or retire. There are many things to do in the area including hiking, biking, and wine tasting. I highly recommend this wonderful community!
