Simi Valley is a city in Ventura County, California. It is situated in the eponymous valley between the Santa Susana Mountains and the Simi Hills. The city is home to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library, which is the final resting place of former President Reagan and his wife, Nancy Reagan.

Simi Valley was originally inhabited by the Chumash people, who settled in the area around 10,000 years ago. The name “Simi” comes from the Chumash word for “the wind,” which is fitting given the city’s location in a valley. The Spanish established a mission in the area in 1795, and the City of Simi Valley was incorporated in 1969.
