Glenn County is located in the heart of California’s Central Valley. The county seat is Willows and the largest city is Orland. The county was created in 1891 from parts of Colusa County. It is named for Dr. Hugh J. Glenn, who was the largest wheat farmer in the state during the 19th century.

Glenn County is a major agricultural center, with crops including rice, corn, wheat, tomatoes, and almonds being grown in the area. The county is also home to several large dairy farms. In recent years, there has been an increase in the number of vineyards and wineries in the county.

The economy of Glenn County is largely based on agriculture. However, there are also a number of manufacturing and service businesses in the area. The county is home to a number of schools and colleges, as well as a hospital and several museums.
