Moss Landing CDP, California is a census-designated place (CDP) in Monterey County, California, United States. The population was 2,103 at the 2010 census.

Moss Landing is located on the central California coast, approximately 8mi south of downtown Monterey and 12mi north of Salinas. The community is home to several marine research facilities, including the Moss Landing Marine Laboratories, as well as a number of businesses catering to the tourist and fishing industries.

The area around Moss Landing was originally inhabited by the Ohlone people. In the 19th century, it was a landing for whalers and fishermen, and later became a center for canning sardines. The construction of a power plant in the 1950s brought new industry and growth to the area.

Today, Moss Landing is a popular destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can enjoy kayaking, bird watching, whale watching, and fishing. The nearby Elkhorn Slough is one of the largest tidal wetlands in California and is home to a variety of wildlife.
