West Menlo Park CDP, California is a census-designated place in San Mateo County. It is located in the San Francisco Bay Area. The population was 8,785 at the 2010 census.

The area was originally settled by the Ohlone people. In the 19th century, it was part of Rancho Laguna de la Merced, which was given to Juan Bautista Alvarado in 1837 by Governor Juan Bautista Alvarado. The land was later subdivided and developed for agriculture and dairy farming.

In the early 20th century, West Menlo Park became a popular weekend getaway for wealthy San Franciscans. The construction of the Dumbarton Bridge in 1927 made the area more accessible, and led to further development.

Today, West Menlo Park is a affluent residential community. It is home to many tech workers and executives who commute to Silicon Valley. The community is known for its quiet, tree-lined streets and excellent public schools.
