Stratford CDP, California is a census-designated place (CDP) in Stanislaus County, California, United States. The population was 3,014 at the 2010 census, up from 2,597 at the 2000 census.
Stratford was founded in 1908 as a stop on the Southern Pacific Railroad. It was named after Stratford-upon-Avon in England by J.D. Patterson, an Englishman who came to California in the 1850s.
The town has a long history of agriculture, and is still home to many farms and ranches. In recent years it has also become a bedroom community for Modesto and Turlock.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.4 square miles (6.2 km2), all of it land.
