Valley Springs is a census-designated place (CDP) in Calaveras County, California, United States. The population was 3,553 at the 2010 census, up from 2,560 at the 2000 census. It is part of the San Andreas Micropolitan Statistical Area.
The town center of Valley Springs is located at the intersection of State Route 12 and State Route 26. The town is situated on the Rancho Valle de los Reyes Mexican land grant.
The first post office opened in 1851.
The name “Valley Springs” refers to the many natural springs in the area, which were used by Native Americans and early settlers. The springs are now part of Valley Springs Park.
