About Brooks CDP, California

Brooks is a census-designated place (CDP) in the southwestern corner of Contra Costa County, California, United States. It is located along the San Joaquin River Delta and Suisun Bay in the San Francisco Bay Area. As of the 2010 census, Brooks had a population of 2,276.

The present-day community of Brooks grew up around a stagecoach stop that was established in the 1870s. The stop was originally known as “Brooks’ Station”, but later became known as “Brooks’ Landing”.

In 1910, the town of Brooks was incorporated. However, the incorporation was later dissolved and the community reverted to being an unincorporated CDP.
