Mojave is a census-designated place in Kern County, California, United States. Mojave is located 50 miles (80 km) east of Bakersfield, at an elevation of 2,762 feet (842 m). The town is the educational, commercial, and cultural center for the Antelope Valley.

As of the 2010 census, the population was 4,238. The primary economic activities include tourism, aerospace, and mining. The town has a total area of 10.0 square miles (26 km2), all land.

The climate in Mojave is generally hot and dry, with very little rainfall. Summers are often extremely hot, with temperatures regularly exceeding 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius). Winters are milder, but can still be quite cold at night.

Mojave is home to a number of interesting attractions, including the Mojave Air and Space Port, the General Patton Memorial Museum, and the Four Aces Movie Ranch. The town also hosts a number of annual events, such as the Mojave Desert Heritage & Cultural Association’s Luau in September and the General George S. Patton Days celebration in October.
