Fetters Hot Springs-Agua Caliente CDP, California is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Sonoma Valley, in Sonoma County, California, United States. The population was 1,377 at the 2010 census.
The CDP includes the unincorporated community of Agua Caliente and the Fetters Hot Springs-Agua Caliente Resort. The resort is on Agua Caliente Creek, which flows from springs in the area.
Agua Caliente means “hot water” in Spanish, and the springs have been used for thermal baths since the 19th century. In 1881, Dr. Edward L. Fletcher built a hotel and health spa at the springs. The resort flourished in the early 20th century, but declined after Fletcher’s death in 1917. It was revived in the 1960s and 1970s as a rustic getaway, and now has several hot springs pools open to the public.
