Yosemite Valley is a census-designated place (CDP) in Mariposa County, California, United States. It lies within the western Sierra Nevada Mountains, northeast of Fresno, and southeast of Stockton. The population was 1,035 at the 2010 census. Yosemite Valley is located in the heart of Yosemite National Park. It is only seven miles long and one mile wide, with towering granite cliffs on all sides. The Merced River flows through the center of the valley, and is flanked by meadows and forests. There are several waterfalls in the valley, including Yosemite Falls, which is the tallest waterfall in North America.

Yosemite Valley is a popular tourist destination, and receives over four million visitors each year. The majority of visitors come during the summer months, when the weather is warm and dry. However, winter is also a popular time to visit, as the valley is blanketed in snow and ice. Visitors can enjoy activities such as hiking, camping, rock climbing, and rafting.
