Cromberg CDP, California is a census-designated place (CDP) in Plumas County, California, United States. The population was 1,059 at the 2010 census, up from 1,045 at the 2000 census. Cromberg is located along State Route 70, 5mi east-northeast of Portola.

Cromberg was founded in 1859 as a mining town, and was originally known as Crum’s Bar. A post office opened in 1861 under the name Cromberg, and the town was officially renamed in 1895. The community is named for John W. Cromberg, an early settler.

The economy of Cromberg CDP is primarily based on tourism and recreation. There are several small businesses in town, including a general store, gas station, and cafe. There are also a few bed and breakfast establishments. The nearby Plumas National Forest offers opportunities for hiking, camping, fishing, and other outdoor activities.
