The community of Lake Los Angeles is located in the Antelope Valley in the Mojave Desert region of Southern California. The CDP has a population of about 12,000 people and covers an area of approximately 33 square miles.
The area is known for its large, man-made reservoir, which was created in the early 1900s by the damming of nearby canyons. The lake is a popular spot for fishing, swimming, and boating. There are also several campgrounds and RV parks in the area.
The community is located about an hour northeast of Los Angeles and is considered part of the Greater Los Angeles Area.
