About Plumas Lake CDP, California
Plumas Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) in Plumas County, California, United States. The population was 2,120 at the 2010 census. It is located on the west shore of the Feather River, just south of the city of Marysville.
The community was originally called “Feather River Ranch” and was developed in the early 1900s as a farming community. The Feather River Project brought water to the area in the 1950s, and it soon became a bedroom community for Marysville and Yuba City.
In recent years, Plumas Lake has seen rapid growth due to its proximity to Sacramento. The town has a small-town feel with many new construction homes and a growing population. There are several parks and recreation areas nearby, as well as a golf course.
