Rose Hills is a census-designated place (CDP) in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 8,512 at the 2010 census, up from 6,848 at the 2000 census. It is located about 20 miles (32 km) east of Downtown Los Angeles.

Rose Hills was originally part of the Rancho San Pedro, which was granted to Juan Jose Dominguez by the Spanish Empire in 1784. In 1846, the Rancho was divided among Dominguez’s heirs, and Rose Hills was given to his son Manuel. The area remained rural until the 1950s, when housing developments began to spring up.

Today, Rose Hills is home to a diverse population of residents. The community is known for its quiet suburban atmosphere and its proximity to major transportation hubs like Los Angeles International Airport and the Port of Los Angeles.
