Jamestown is a census-designated place (CDP) in Tuolumne County, California, United States. The population was 3,433 at the 2010 census, up from 2,971 at the 2000 census. It is the county seat of Tuolumne County.
Jamestown is located at 37°57′24″N 120°24′17″W / 37.95667°N 120.40417°W / 37.95667; -120.40417 (37.956758, -120.404210).
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 5.0 square miles (12.9 km²), all of it land.
Jamestown is home to Railtown 1897 State Historic Park and the Sierra Railway. The park includes the Jamestown Depot, a restored steam train engine and rolling stock used in movie productions such as High Noon, Little House on the Prairie, Petticoat Junction, Unforgiven, and Back to the Future III.
