French Valley is a census-designated place (CDP) in Riverside County, California, United States. The population was 23,476 at the 2010 census, up from 19,928 at the 2000 census.

The French Valley area was originally inhabited by the Temecula Native Americans. The name “French Valley” was first used in the 1880s by winegrowers from France who were looking for a new place to grow grapes.

The French Valley CDP is located in the southern part of Riverside County, east of the city of Temecula. It is bordered to the north and west by the Murrieta CDP, to the south by unincorporated community of Anza, and to the east by unincorporated community of Aguanga.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 40.6 square miles (105 km2), of which 40.5 square miles (105 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.26 km2) (0.12%) is water.
