About Igo CDP, California
Igo CDP is a census-designated place located in Shasta County, California. The population was 2,193 at the 2010 census. Igo is located on the Igo-Ono Road 7.5 miles (12 km) east of Redding.
The place was named after John A. Igo, who settled there in 1852. A post office operated at Igo from 1854 to 1856.
Igo is home to the Igo Volunteer Fire Department and its associated community hall. Igo also has an elementary school, which is part of the Enterprise School District.
