Campbell is a city located in Santa Clara County, California. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 39,349. It is situated on the San Tomas Aquino Creek in the Santa Clara Valley.

The area was originally inhabited by the Ohlone Native Americans. The first European settlers arrived in the late 18th century, and the town was named after John Campbell, who was the governor of California from 1856 to 1858.

The town grew rapidly during the early 20th century, due to the establishment of canneries and other food processing businesses. The city’s proximity to San Jose also made it a popular bedroom community for Silicon Valley workers.

Today, Campbell is a thriving community with a diverse economy. The city is home to a number of tech companies, as well as businesses in retail, healthcare, and manufacturing. There are also several parks and recreation facilities for residents to enjoy.
