Vallejo is a city in California located in the San Francisco Bay Area. The city has a population of over 115,000 people and is known for its diverse population and history. Vallejo was founded in 1852 and was originally named Eureka. The city was renamed in 1855 to Vallejo after General Mariano Guadalupe Vallejo, who served in the Mexican-American War and the American Civil War. Vallejo is home to a number of historical landmarks, including the USS Pennsylvania Museum, the Mare Island Naval Shipyard, and the Vallejo Ferry Terminal.
