Sunnyside-Tahoe City is a census-designated place in Placer County, California, United States. The population was 1,856 at the 2010 census. It is located on the northwest shore of Lake Tahoe.
The Sunnyside-Tahoe City CDP includes the unincorporated communities of Sunnyside and Tahoe City. Tahoe City is the county seat of Placer County and is the largest community in the Sunnyside-Tahoe City CDP.
Sunnyside was originally developed as a summer resort community in the late 19th century. Tahoe City was developed as a center for loggers and timber companies in the early 20th century. Both communities have since become year-round residential communities.
Sunnyside-Tahoe City is a popular tourist destination, with recreation opportunities including skiing, hiking, biking, and boating. The area is also home to several restaurants and shops.
