Pasatiempo is a small census-designated place in Santa Cruz County, California. It is situated atop a hill above the city of Santa Cruz, and is known for its scenic views and rural atmosphere. The population of Pasatiempo is just over 1,000 people.
Pasatiempo was founded in the early 20th century as a summer retreat for wealthy families from San Francisco. The community was designed by renowned landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted Jr., and many of its original homes are still standing today. Pasatiempo is home to the Pasatiempo Golf Club, one of the oldest private golf clubs in California.
Despite its small size, Pasatiempo has a rich history and a unique character all its own.
