Edison is a small town located in the San Joaquin Valley in central California. The town is named after the famous inventor Thomas Edison and is home to a population of just over 2,000 people. The town is situated on the banks of the Kings River and is surrounded by farmland.

The town of Edison was founded in 1879 and was originally known as Kingsburg. The town was renamed in 1882 in honor of Thomas Edison, who had invented the incandescent light bulb just two years earlier. Edison himself never lived in the town named after him, but he did visit on occasion.

Today, Edison is a quiet town with a rural feel. The town has a few businesses, including a gas station, a grocery store, and a couple of restaurants. There is also a elementary school and a community park. Agriculture is still the main industry in Edison, with crops such as tomatoes, melons, and almonds being grown in the surrounding fields.
