About Stewarts Point Rancheria, California
The Stewarts Point Rancheria is a small community located in Sonoma County, California. The Rancheria is home to the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria, a federally recognized tribe of Coast Miwok and Southern Pomo Indians. The Rancheria is approximately 2,300 acres large and includes the town of Stewarts Point. The Rancheria has a long history dating back to the early 1800s when the first Coast Miwok settlement was established. The Rancheria was formally recognized by the United States government in 1916. Today, the Rancheria is home to about 200 members of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. The tribe operates its own tribal government, police force, and fire department. The Rancheria also has its own school district, which serves the needs of the community’s children.
