Corona is a city located in Riverside County, California. The city is situated about 40 miles east of Los Angeles and had a population of 152,374 at the 2010 census. Corona is part of the Inland Empire metropolitan area.

The city was founded in 1886 and was originally named South Riverside. The name was later changed to Corona for the crown-like shape of the town’s streets. The city has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters.

Corona is home to several notable landmarks including the Santa Ana River, the Corona Heritage Park & Museum, and the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation. The city also hosts a number of annual events such as the Corona ArtWalk, the Corona Chili Cook-Off, and the Corona Christmas Parade.
