Benton CDP, California is a census-designated place (CDP) in Mono County, California, United States. The population was 1,168 at the 2010 census, up from 992 at the 2000 census.
Benton is located on U.S. Route 395 10mi south of Bridgeport. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 18.8square miles (48.8km2), all of it land.
The place was named after Judge James Benton, who was an early settler in the area.
