Holtville city is located in southern California, in the western Mojave Desert. The city was founded in 1909 and incorporated in 1923. It is named after its founder, James W. Holt. The city has a population of 2,095 as of the 2010 census.
Holtville is known as the “Carrot Capital of the World” due to the large production of carrots in the area. The city celebrates this with an annual Carrot Festival. The festival includes a parade, a crowned Carrot Queen, and other activities.
