Gardena city is located in the South Bay region of Los Angeles County, California. The city was incorporated on September 11, 1930. Gardena is bordered by Lawndale to the north, Torrance to the south, Alondra Park to the east, and Hawthorne to the west. The 2010 United States Census reported that Gardena had a population of 60,711.

Gardena has a Mediterranean climate. The climate is mild with little variation in temperature throughout the year. The average high temperature is 74 degrees Fahrenheit and the average low temperature is 55 degrees Fahrenheit.
