Waukena CDP, California is a census-designated place located in the San Joaquin Valley in Tulare County, California. The population was 1,442 at the 2010 census. The town is home to the Waukena School District and Waukena Joint Union Elementary School. Waukena CDP is located at 36°21′46″N 119°17′24″W / 36.36278°N 119.29°W / 36.36278; -119.29.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 0.5 square miles (1.3 km2), all of it land.
The town was founded in 1892 by John Waukena, a Swedish immigrant. The town is named after him.
