Rodeo CDP, California is a census-designated place (CDP) in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 8,679 at the 2010 census. It is located on the shore of San Pablo Bay.

The town of Rodeo was founded in 1892 by Frank C. Havens, and incorporated in 1915. The city’s name came from Havens’ vision for his property: he wanted to create a “playground for the rich and famous”.

Rodeo’s location on the shore of San Pablo Bay made it a prime location for fishing and hunting. The area was also home to many ranches, and Rodeo became known as the “Cowboy Capital of the World”.

Today, Rodeo is a quiet community with a small-town feel. The town is home to a number of businesses, including a variety of restaurants, shops, and services. Rodeo is also home to a number of parks and recreation areas, making it a great place to live, work, and play.
