Moreno Valley is a city located in Riverside County, California. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 193,365. It is part of the Greater Los Angeles area.
The city is situated at the base of the San Bernardino Mountains. Moreno Valley is bordered by the cities of Riverside and Perris. The Santa Ana River flows through the city.
Moreno Valley experiences a hot summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen climate classification Csa). Temperatures average in the mid 80s°F (29°C) in summer and mid 60s°F (16°C) in winter.
Moreno Valley is home to several higher education institutions including Moreno Valley College, Southern University of California, and University of California, Riverside Extension.
The city is served by two major freeways, Interstate 215 and State Route 60. Moreno Valley also has two Metrolink commuter rail stations: one in downtown and one at March Air Reserve Base.
