Fort Washington CDP is a census-designated place in Sacramento County, California. The population was 4,351 at the 2010 census. It is located in the southern part of the county, near the city of Elk Grove.

The area now known as Fort Washington CDP was originally inhabited by the Maidu people. In 1839, John Sutter received a land grant from the Mexican government and established a fort on the site. The fort was later abandoned during the California Gold Rush.

In the early 20th century, the area was developed as an agricultural community. Fort Washington CDP was officially established as a census-designated place in 2010.
