Cutten is a census-designated place (CDP) in Humboldt County, California, United States. The population was 10,775 at the 2010 census, up from 10,207 at the 2000 census. Cutten is located 3.5 miles (5.6 km) east-northeast of Eureka, at an elevation of 138 feet (42 m).
The town was named after John D. Cutten, who owned a large portion of the land on which the town was built. He also operated a successful dairy business in the area.
The town has a number of small businesses, including several restaurants and a grocery store. There is also a post office and a gas station.
Cutten is served by the Cutten School District, which includes Cutten Elementary School and Ridgewood Continuation High School.
