Prattville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Sierra County, California, United States. The population was 1,265 at the 2010 census, up from 1,017 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Yuba City Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Prattville was established in 1850 as a mining town. It became a stop on the Pony Express in 1858. A post office operated at Prattville from 1858 to 1860. The town was named after George Pratt, an early settler.
In the early 20th century, Prattville was a center for logging and lumber milling. The town declined after the mills closed in the 1950s.
