Daly City is a city located in the state of California in the United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 106,094. Daly City is situated just south of San Francisco, and is considered to be part of the San Francisco Bay Area.

The city was originally settled by the Spanish in the 18th century, and was later taken over by Mexico. In 1848, the city was annexed by the United States as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The city’s name was later changed to Daly City in honor of John Daly, who was the mayor at the time.
