Apple Valley is a town located in the Mojave Desert of San Bernardino County, California. The town is situated in the Victor Valley and is considered part of the High Desert region. Apple Valley is approximately 85 miles (137 km) northeast of Los Angeles. The population was 72,174 at the 2010 census.
The town of Apple Valley was incorporated on November 14, 1988. Prior to incorporation, the area was known as Little Rock Creek Township, named after a small stream that flows through the area. The town’s name comes from the many apple orchards that once dotted the valley.
Today, Apple Valley is a growing community with a variety of businesses and amenities. The town is home to several schools, parks, and recreational facilities. Apple Valley also has its own police and fire departments.
