About Parklawn CDP, California

Parklawn CDP, California is a census-designated place (CDP) located in San Diego County. The population was 2,782 at the 2010 census. Parklawn is located in the southeastern corner of the city of San Diego, adjacent to the neighborhoods of Skyline and Paradise Hills. The community of Parklawn was developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s as part of the post-World War II housing boom. Many of the homes in Parklawn were built by Levitt & Sons, the same company that built the iconic Levittown communities on Long Island and in Pennsylvania. The homes in Parklawn are small, single-story ranch houses on large lots. The community was designed as a middle-class suburb, and it remains a largely residential neighborhood today.

Despite its suburban feel, Parklawn is located just minutes from downtown San Diego and all of its attractions. The San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, and Petco Park (home of the San Diego Padres baseball team) are all within a few miles of Parklawn. The neighborhood is also served by several public schools, including Skyline High School.

Parklawn is a quiet, family-friendly community with a strong sense of pride in its history and its place in San Diego.
