About Anchor Bay CDP, California

Anchor Bay is a census-designated place (CDP) in Mendocino County, California, United States. The population was 1,104 at the 2010 census, up from 1,028 at the 2000 census.

Anchor Bay is located at 39°20′15″N 123°48′59″W / 39.33764°N 123.81639°W / 39.33764; -123.81639 (39.337656, -123.816382),[2] along the Pacific Coast about 8 miles (13 km) north of Fort Bragg and 20 miles (32 km) south of Eureka. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.5 square miles (11.7 km²), all of it land.

The Anchor Bay community is centered on the small bay of the same name. Anchor Bay is a popular tourist destination for its sandy beaches, fishing, and crabbing opportunities. There is also a small commercial fishing fleet that operates out of the bay.
