Blackhawk is a census-designated place (CDP) located in Contra Costa County, California. As of the 2010 census, the CDP had a population of 9,354.

The area now known as Blackhawk was originally populated by the Ohlone Native Americans. In the early 1800s, Spanish and Mexican settlers began to move into the area. The town of Blackhawk was founded in 1854 by Joel Tanner Hart.

Today, Blackhawk is a affluent community with a median household income of over $200,000. The town is home to the Blackhawk Museum and Country Club, as well as a number of parks and trails.
