About Bloomington CDP, California

Bloomington is a census-designated place (CDP) in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 23,851 at the 2010 census, up from 19,318 at the 2000 census.

The name Bloomington is derived from Minton, the surname of the city’s first postmaster, and was first used in 1873. The CDP was originally an agricultural community specializing in fruit and vegetable crops; however, since the 1970s it has become increasingly suburban in character. It now lies within the Inland Empire region of Southern California.
