About Brookdale CDP, California

Brookdale CDP, California is a census-designated place (CDP) in Santa Cruz County, California, United States. The population was 4,457 at the 2010 census. Brookdale is located on the San Lorenzo River 3.5 miles (5.6 km) east-southeast of Boulder Creek.

Brookdale was originally the name of a post office established in 1874. A community grew up around the post office and by 1881 it had a store and a blacksmith. The Brookdale post office closed in 1933.
