About Deer Park CDP, California

Deer Park is a census-designated place (CDP) in Napa County, California, United States. The population was 3,869 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Napa, California Metropolitan Statistical Area.

The area that is now Deer Park was originally settled by Native Americans who used the area for hunting and gathering. In 1857, a group of settlers from Sonoma County purchased the land and established a cattle ranch. The ranch was eventually divided into smaller farms and vineyards.

Deer Park has a Mediterranean climate with warm, dry summers and cool, wet winters. The average annual rainfall is about 30 inches (760 mm).

The economy of Deer Park is primarily based on agriculture. Vineyards and wineries are the main agricultural products, but there are also some farms that grow other crops such as pears and olives. Tourism is also an important part of the economy.
