About East Shore CDP, California

East Shore CDP, California is a census-designated place located in Shasta County. As of the 2010 census, the population was 2,146. The community is located on the east shore of Lake Shasta.

The area around East Shore CDP was originally inhabited by the Wintu people. In 1849, settlers from Oregon established a community called Shasta City. The town was later renamed East Shore after the construction of a railroad line through the area.

Today, East Shore CDP is a popular destination for outdoor recreation. The community offers access to Lake Shasta, as well as hiking, camping, and fishing in the surrounding area.
