The community is adjacent to Anderson, California and is located on Interstate 5.
Historically, Happy Valley was known for its many hot springs, which were popular with tourists. The area still has several working resorts, including the Happy Valley Hot Springs Resort and the Mt. Shasta Resort.
The community is also home to the Happy Valley Elementary School, which serves students in grades K-8.
