About Homewood Canyon CDP, California

Homewood Canyon CDP is a census-designated place in Riverside County, California, United States. The population was 1,871 at the 2010 census, up from 1,812 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Greater Los Angeles area.

The area now known as Homewood Canyon was originally inhabited by the Tongva people. Homewood Canyon was named after a ranch that was established in the area in 1884 by E. A. and M. E. Homewood.

The 2010 United States Census reported that Homewood Canyon CDP had a population of 1,871. The racial makeup of Homewood Canyon CDP was 1,351 (72.1%) White, 43 (2.3%) African American, 24 (1.3%) Native American, 46 (2.5%) Asian, 8 (0.4%) Pacific Islander, 268 (14.3%) from other races, and 81 (4.3%) from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 566 persons (30.2%).
