About Humboldt Hill CDP, California

Humboldt Hill is a census-designated place (CDP) in Humboldt County, California, United States. The population was 2,752 at the 2010 census, up from 2,623 at the 2000 census. It is located on the north side of Humboldt Bay, about 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Eureka.

Humboldt Hill was originally settled by the Wiyot people. The first Euro-American settlers arrived in the 1850s, and the area was subsequently logged. A post office was established in 1878, and the community was formally platted in 1890.

Today, Humboldt Hill is a primarily residential community, with some commercial and light industrial businesses. It is home to a number of parks and recreational facilities, as well as to several schools.
