Keene CDP, California is a census-designated place (CDP) in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 2,128 at the 2010 census, up from 1,919 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Bakersfield metropolitan area.
Keene is located in northern Kern County, in the Tehachapi Mountains. California State Route 58 passes through the community, leading east 21 miles (34 km) to Tehachapi and west 48 miles (77 km) to Bakersfield.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the Keene CDP has a total area of 3.2 square miles (8.3 km2), all of it land.
