Lake California is a census-designated place (CDP) in Shasta County, California, United States. The population was 2,871 at the 2010 census, up from 2,316 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Redding Metropolitan Statistical Area.
The community is located along Interstate 5, 6 miles (9.7 km) southeast of Anderson and 8 miles (13 km) southwest of Redding. Lake California is adjacent to the unincorporated community of Happy Valley to the east.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 7.5 square miles (19.4 km2), all of it land.
