Prunedale is a census-designated place (CDP) in Monterey County, California, United States. The population was 7,637 at the 2010 census. Prunedale is located 15 miles (24 km) northeast of Salinas, at an elevation of 164 feet (50 m).
The first post office in Prunedale opened in 1925.
Prunedale is home to North Monterey County High School and George Washington Middle School, both part of the North Monterey County Unified School District.
