Santa Paula is a city located in Ventura County, California. The population was 29,321 at the 2010 census, up from 28,598 at the 2000 census. It is known as the “Citrus Capital of the World.”

The area was originally inhabited by the Chumash people. Santa Paula was founded in 1874 by farmers and ranchers who were attracted to the area by the fertile soil and mild climate. The city soon became a center for the citrus industry, which remains a major part of the city’s economy to this day.
